Purado’s corporate responsibility policy

Purado’s corporate responsibility policy defines the development and guidelines of
Purado’s corporate responsibility in various areas of responsibility. Purado promotes
sustainable development in its business operations. Purado requires that its suppliers
also comply with the principles of the company’s responsibility policy.

Areas of Purado’s corporate responsibility

Responsibility is the basis of Purado’s operations and consists of five areas: ethics of
the operations, social responsibility, financial responsibility, product liability, and
environmental responsibility.

1. Ethics of the operations

Purado expects its entire staff to comply with the company’s ethical principles.
Suppliers are expected to comply with the same principles or with their own,
corresponding principles. Similarly, the company and its suppliers must comply with all
applicable national and international laws, regulations, and generally accepted
practices.

Employees must not support or promote corruption, bribery, or money-laundering in any
form. Any gifts must be reasonable and comply with the law and normal business
practices.

Employees and other interest groups are expected to act honestly in all their business
relationships.

2. Social responsibility

Purado’s social responsibility includes respecting human rights and the basic rights of
the employees, ensuring the provision of occupational healthcare services and work
safety, and our commitment to other interest groups and society.

Purado complies with all applicable national laws and regulations on human and
employee rights and expects its supplies to do the same. Purado respects and expects
its suppliers to comply with the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
of the United Nations and the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
of the International Labour Organization ILO.

Purado complies with all applicable national occupational safety and health laws and
regulations and provides its staff with a safe and healthy work environment.
The prevention of accidents and occupational diseases is included in Purado’s
principles.

Hazards and risks are being analysed and safe working methods improved continuously.
Employees are instructed to act safely as regards chemicals and other risks inside the
workplace, in addition to which they are provided with sufficient personal protective
equipment.

Employees are provided with appropriate occupational healthcare services and
statutory insurance policies, as well as the trainings required by legislation. All accidents
related to occupational safety and health and any other deviations are reported and
addressed appropriately.

3. Financial responsibility

Purado acts systematically within the business network, with the aim of establishing
permanent profitability and long customer relationships. High-quality products, which
enable and enhance the operation of customer processes and long maintenance
intervals, are at the core of Purado’s production activities. The activities are being
developed and improved based on careful consideration, as permitted by the prevailing
conditions and opportunities and with the aim of achieving cost efficiency.

As regards the supplier network, the company acts systematically and professionally.

4. Product liability

Purado aims to produce high-quality products that enable the company’s customers to
profit from their equipment and processes. The products are, in most cases,
manufactured by using the customer’s own drawings. Therefore, the fulfilment of safety
requirements is, usually, defined in cooperation with the customer. Purado ensures,
through its own activities, that coatings and other products do not cause exceptional
hazards attributable to faults in customer premises. Purado has a valid product liability
insurance policy.

As regards chemicals, Purado complies with and expects its suppliers to also comply
with the REACH regulation of the European Union. Suppliers are expected to comply with
the RoHS directive (restriction of hazardous substances, electric devices). Suppliers
located in other countries are also expected to comply with corresponding local
legislation. Suppliers must ensure that the hazardous substances contained in
chemicals and chemical mixtures are specified in safety data sheets and that all
appropriate analysis certificates are provided with the chemicals.

5. Environmental responsibility

Purado takes environmental legislation and regulations into account in its activities.
Purado has a valid environmental permit, and the company complies with its
requirements. Environmental risks are identified and assessed. The company aims to
eliminate the risk of environmental hazards. Employees are provided with instruction on
the prevention of environmental hazards and given instructions on the responsible
disposal of hazardous waste. Waste is, at the minimum, sorted or recycled in
accordance with the requirements of the law. Purado uses, in its production,
substances that are hazardous to the environment and which are stored, used, and
disposed of in a responsible manner.

The efficiency of energy use is enhanced where possible, and energy sources that are
sustainable in the long run are favoured.

Responsibility, monitoring, and changes

These instructions are reviewed as part of strategic planning and updated based on the
need. The management is responsible for ensuring that the company’s operations
comply with these instructions. The CEO is responsible for updating this policy, which is
then approved by the board.
